This patch does no longer apply to the current source tree. There are also some problems with the changed Octave API. I know it's discouraging if there's no recognition of your patch for more than two years.

Can you provide a patch witch can be applied to the current source? If not I'll try to rewrite and integrate it.

Thanks, Andy

I just realised that the array storing the frame numbers should be an uint array rather than a double, so

- unsigned int framenr = (unsigned int)args(1).scalar_value();
+ uint32NDArray nf = args(1).array_value();

Sorry for missing that.

Patch for the aviread function from the Octave-forge video package.

The function was changed to be compatible to the matlab version of aviread. Now it can read a series of frames specified by an index vector instead of only a single frame at a time. The returned value is now a struct array with two fields "cdata" containing the images' data in a height x width x 3 uint8 array and a "colormap" field which is, so far, just empty because indexed colors are not implemented in the AVHandler yet. This also speeds up the function by a factor of 3.

The Demo has been changed to illustrate the new behaviour.
