Under Hypothesis Testing:

>+or does the mean of a dataset significantly differ from a particular

I would write "whether" in place of "does", "differs" in place of "differ".

I notice that @footnote is not used in quite the right way in a few places. In particular, there should be no space between the text and the @footnote command; otherwise there is a space between the text and the footnote marker in the output, which is not the usual style.

>+@footnote{This example assumes that is it already proven that @var{B} is
>+not greater than @var{A}.}

Is this correct? I would have guessed that it assumes that it assumes that it is not already proven. Regardless of whether I'm right about that, "is it" => "it is".

As I continue to read through examples, I find myself wondering whether there is value in inserting the @prompt{PSPP>} prefixes. Since these appear on (almost) every line, they don't really teach the reader very much, and they make it more difficult to cut-and-paste from the manual.

Now I have to leave off before reading the Linear Regression section.

@clicksequence is new in Texinfo 4.12, so you will get errors if your makeinfo is older than that.

I just updated gnulib, and seem to have clicksequence defined:

/home/jhs/src/gnulib:$ find ./* -name '*'|xargs grep clicksequence
./build-aux/texinfo.tex:% @clicksequence{File @click{} Open ...}
./build-aux/texinfo.tex:\def\clicksequence#1{\begingroup#1\endgroup}

But makeinfo still complains that clicksequence is undefined.

Hey, you got someone to sponsor writing a tutorial! That's great.

One piece of general advice that I don't see here is to use the GUI to generate code with the "Paste" command and then reuse the generated code.

The first and third patch hunks in expressions.texi misalign menu item descriptions.

Is the term "graphic user interface" correct? I usually see the first word written as "graphical". I guess that could be an Americanism.

The patch adds a line "@include doc/tut.texi" to the new file doc/tutorial.texi, but I don't see a tut.texi in the patch.

It might be worth saying explicitly that the doubled "list" in "data list list" is not a typo.

I think that the * in your data list examples may be left out entirely.

>For a complete description of the @cmd{LIST} command, @pxref{LIST}.

@pxref is normally used only inside parentheses. I would write this as "..., see @ref{LIST}." I see other instances of this elsewhere.

I got confused about the "height" variables. Early on in the "listing the data" section the heights appeared to be in centimeters. Later on in the "data screening and transformation" section they were in millimeters. Now admittedly these are different data files but I still found it surprising.

Oops, had to stop reading at "Inverting negatively coded variables". I will have more comments later when I get more time to read.
