Subject: Converting a project from CVS to {svn, git, arch, hg}?

I bet there are a number of requests to convert from CVS to some newer version-control system. Perhaps a FAQ entry is in order?

CVS update error message - HELP! --gschrago, Mon, 27 Oct 2008 15:27:25 +0000 reply
Could you please help me with the following error message I get in response to a CVS update command:
cvs update: move away SuperAgent?/SA-dataroot/WK/configuration/applications.cl; it is in the way
If I delete the existing target file, then the latest release is written there; otherwise I get endlessly this error message.
Thanks for your help and best regards.
Gérard.
