Projects approval delayed
Item posted by Sylvain Beucler <Beuc> on Sun 15 Feb 2004 09:09:40 PM UTC.
New projects approvals, as well as moves from nongnu to gnu, are
currently queued until some post-crack works on Savannah are
completed, mainly adapting the system to the new secure architecture.
We currently do not know when this will be possible again and thank
you for your patience.

As you might have noticed from the news on the front page, Savannah is again in the position to accept new projects. For more information, please see the just submitted news item: <https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3178>
Please contact savannah-hackers@gnu.org if you have any questions. |

Hello, could someone tell us how is this work going?

I still do not know any ETA for project registration.
I will try to set up some Tasks on project administration to publicly keep track of features implementation.
Also, some people asked about helping. You may submit membership requests on project administration using the interface in your "My Groups" webpage. |

It's a pity to see Savannah half-dead. Yes, projects that are already here can continue developing, but I wonder how many users Savannah have already lost during the four months of ongoing "recovery".
I'm not blaming anyone, but I'm absolutely sure that if anyone had been working actively on these problems, full Savannah functionality would have been restored long ago. So it's seems to be a natural conclusion that Savannah project is half-dead at present (which I'm surely not happy about).

I can recommend http://www.gna.org which is alive and kicking. Works great. |

Exactly! Just yesterday another person recommended it to me and I'm going to ask for hosting today or tomorrow. I'd like to be hosted at Savannah, but I can't wait for indefinite period of time. |

My university and I are eager to release some requested code under the GPL through Savannah. So we are eagerly awaiting project approval opening. |

Hmm, me and my Uni too.
But I'll be patient, the savannah team have given a lot to the community I'm sure they are doing their best :-) |

More to the point is there anything we can do to -help- with the backlog?

Sorry to say, but I registered my project in mid december...
Any ways to empty the backlog of projects?
