Dear CCT members,

We are pleased to announce the publication of the Free Software Foundation's (FSF) Fiscal Year 2017 (FY2017) Annual Report, available for the first time in Web format and PDF.

The report gives an overview of the Foundation's activities, accomplishments, and financial picture from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. It examines the impact of the FSF's events, programs, and activities, including the annual LibrePlanet conference, the Respects Your Freedom (RYF) hardware certification program, and the fight against Digital Restrictions Management (DRM).

In the United States, nonprofit organizations like the FSF have an external financial audit after the close of each fiscal year. This independent reporting allows us to retain our tax-exempt status, and gives us the opportunity to share financial information with the public. We publish our financials and our Annual Report as part of our commitment to transparency. Along with our strong financial health, accountability and transparency are the reasons we are a Charity Navigator Four Star Charity.

You can support the FSF's fight for software freedom by:

    making a one-time donation; and/or

sharing this report on social media, and with your friends and colleagues who may want to support user freedom by becoming a member.

This report is a snapshot of the FSF's work, and we hope you will continue to stand with us as we face new threats to user freedom. If you would like a printed copy of the Annual Report, or have any questions or comments, please email us at campaigns@fsf.org.

Happy hacking,

Dana Morgenstein
Outreach & Communications Coordinator
