Item posted by Simon Josefsson <jas> on Thu May 20 14:17:08 2010.

GNU GSS implements the GSS-API framework and the Kerberos V5 mechanism. GSS-API is used by network applications to provide authentication services in a mechanism-independent way.

The announcement is here:
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/help-gss/2010-05/msg00000.html

In brief:

  • gss: New --list-mechanisms (-l) to list supported mechanisms in library.
  • doc: Added section documenting command-line tool "gss".
  • doc: Added PDF version of API reference manual.
  • i18n: Translations were updated.
  • build: The check for GNU Shishi now requires 0.0.42 or later.
  • build: Update gnulib files.
