Long time no news

Item posted by Sylvain Beucler <Beuc> on Thu 11 Nov 2004 09:32:37 AM UTC.

What's the current status of Savannah?

First we are working on improving the response time. We got the help of some mew volunteers, we now usually reply to support requests in 24h, and initiate projects approvals 3 or 4 days after their submission. We would like to improve the latter.

Regarding features, we are working on merging our local changes with Savane, so we can easily upgrade and work on other changes that we need. The work is not going as fast as we would like, mainly because we also have to maintain the current service, as described above.

In addition, we defined a way to update remote mailing lists and its security-related aspects are currently discussed with the FSF sysadmins. We also need some slight changes to a backend script to support several domain names (gnu and nongnu).

That being done, we should be able to work on cleaning up the various bits of user documentation, improving the download area and work on GNU Arch support.

We'll try to post more news in the future.

I am quite amazed to see round the clock support. Specially by Sylvain Beucler.

I personally am quite satisfied with the efficiency of savannah-hackers.

Good work!
