Mailing-list creation temporarily impossible
Item posted by Mathieu Roy <yeupou> on Tue 10 Dec 2002 09:06:33 AM UTC.
It's the result of the mailman upgrade. People are working on it. Be patient!
A message will be posted right, in this news/forum, here once it reworks.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Someone noticed that I forgot to post a message saying that it rework. Indeed, it reworks since a long long time.
If it does not work for you, send us a mail to savannah-hackers@gnu.org |
| Everything seems ok (posted by Mathieu Roy, Wed 01 Jan 2003 09:41:47 PM UTC) |
At least, the archives for savannah-hackers@gnu.org are ok. |

I run three mailing list and they all seem to be losing messages. When ever a new message comes in it the last message seems to disappear from the archive. Kinda acting like a queue which can only hold one item. |

Can you list thoses mailing-list?
The problem is only about archives (ie mailing is distributed)? If so, please be patient, Paul Fischer is working on it and this problem is system-wide (see savannah-hackers archives for instance) |

Do we have any ETA on these fixes? The archives have been broken for nearly a month now. And now that January is here, the most recent messages are not even showing up in the monthly archive -- there's no entry for January.
Is there any chance this 'upgrade' can be undone so we can get back to a state where the software actually works? |

Here's the lists I run:
http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/avr-libc-dev/
The avr-libc-dev one is the most active and I've gotten messages since Jan 1st that haven't shown up in the archives yet and there's still many missing from December. |

It is confirmed now that mailing-list creation reworks as expected.
For instance http://mail.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/pgubook-readers has been created. |

Are mailing list actually working? I'm seeing odd behavior in the gcl-devel and gcl-commits interfaces: the december sort-by-date page is dropping messages. Did the internal state of the mailing lists get corrupted somehow?

I also created two mailing lists (eg http://mail.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/libxmlight-devel), but I can't post to it:

Is it ok now?
Normally mailing-list creation is fixed, there's still troubles with mailman archives. |

yes, works fine |
| Note also... (posted by Mathieu Roy, Tue 10 Dec 2002 09:11:05 AM UTC) |
That mailman has been upgrade. If you run a mailing list, you should take a look at the administrative interface, there're many new options (content filtering, language option...). |
