About

locfinder v1 was written and maintained by Drew Ulricksen in tcl. After sometime however, it became apparant that Melbourne Wireless was expanding beyond what locfinder v1 was written to cope with, as users were demanding extra features and the like.

locfinder v2 was written with these new features in mind, and is maintained by James Healy. locfinder v2 is written with php with a MySQL backend, and uses mapserver for its mapping.

although locfinder v2 is totally original code, inspiriation for the layout comes from meshdb, an open source community wireless network database solution, written in large by David Leonard.

Thanks to chewy for the l33+ banner. Anything harder than a bubblewrap filter in Photoshop is more than I can handle...

our intention is to release the source code under GPL, as soon as we iron out some of the bugs, and modify the code to be portable (ie. not MW specific..)

all comments, feedback and abuse should be directed at James. Go for your life.
