Confirmed on a recent development tip. The problem is common to any of the XXXlatex drivers incrluding 'pslatex' and 'epslatex'. Given that printing to pdf by itself works (colorbar (); print -dpdf colorbar.pdf), this is something with that family of output drivers.

Also, of note is that the drivers behave differently even in the same family. I found 'epslatex' to produce output as long as the location of the colorbar was not 'EastOutside' or 'NorthOutside'. 'pdflatex' was consistently wrong in in its results.

Hi,

the colorbar is printed as a frame and a very small colorbar (approx. 1 pixel width) with the pdflatex driver.

To reproduce this error type in octave (with fltk as graphics toolkit):

and have a look at the resulting foo-inc.pdf.

I tested with version 3.6.2. and version 3.7.1+ (developement)
