since IPv6 link local addresses can show up on multiple interfaces, you have to be able to select which interface to use. RFC 4007 describes the zone id syntax which is simply:
<address>%<zone_id>

indeed, url.c:url_parse() makes no mention of this component.

the issue would be mitigated if wget had an --interface option akin to curl's, but alas, it does not. --bind-address is not sufficient as you could have the same IPv6 address on multiple interfaces.
