Not able to produce the same bug.
But observed that if .gdbinit file is updated DDD is busy starting the gdb and the source code is not getting loaded. Though the change in .gdbinit file is reflected.e.g "set prompt" in .gdbinit file changed my prompt in DDD gdb console window.

I have a project with a .gdbinit file with some functions. After an update of that file I was wondering why still the old functions where used.

After deleting the file ./ddd/init finally the new functions were used.

It looks like ddd keeps copies of user functions in ./ddd/init but ignores updates.
