In Ubuntu, we found a bug that pressing ctrl+d for example, would print an ugly 'missing character' symbol.


Attached is a simple patch for it. It just checks if the character is a printable one. It is not UTF-8 aware, but neither is the surrounding code, so...



(Note: upload size limit is set to 16384 kB, after insertion of the required escape characters.)
