Initially in grub2 the configuration is set to GRUB_GFXMODE=auto. On several systems grub seems to be unable to autodetect the proper resolution.

Dear all,
I had the same problem.
I am running a dual boot with Windows 10 (which was installed first) and Garuda. Asus Tuf 310 + i5 + Radeon RX 580 on 4k monitor.
Shutting down or restarting from windows worked perfectly and took me to grub menu. Restarting from garuda brought me to a black screen (didn't even show my motherboard logo) that glitched briefly. Then Garuda loaded normally after a few seconds.
In my case, "videoinfo" returned the list of possible resolutions but it was set to auto. running "videotest" opened a colorful test screen but rebooted in 3 seconds.
I fixed the issue by opening Garuda and setting GRUB_GFXMODE=1230x1024 (the highest resolution suggested in "videoinfo") and updating grub. Then, the splash screen and the grub menu loaded perfectly.
I found that other users are also having this issue, also in cases of 4k monitors.
