I experience this same bug with the Flatpak version of Octave (version 8.3.0) on Nobara (Fedora 38)

octave 6.2.1 on Fedora 33 seems to be working as expected.

This might be a duplicate of bug #55669. Have you build Octave yourself? If yes, with which version of Qt?

Any further information you can provide on how to trigger this behavior? Or can you post a screencast showing what you're describing?

I can't reproduce on Debian with Gnome 3.38 and Qt 5.15, it works as expected for me. But maybe behavior is different for different versions and/or different preferences.

When moving a window, eg. trying to have the workspace on the right hand side compared to the default layout, after pressing the mouse, as soon as i start to move, the window (inside octave) detaches and creates its own window in the Gnome shell.

Expected behaviour
Like MATLAB, Photoshop, Krita, Gimp, etc. you can normally rearrange workspaces within the window to a layout of your personal preference. I expected the window to not detach, and Octave to highlight some snapping zones where I could release and attach.
