Forgot to mention, this is with the stable release of GRUB 2.06-1 . I am running Arch Linux.

I also face the same problem, GRUB fails to detect that the root partition is encrypted, and as a consequence, fails to add cryptomount commands to the EFI image when using grub-install , and also when generating grub.cfg
