Thanks for reporting this bug. I have updated the version of gnulib used, and taken advantage of that to simplify Valgrind support.

Please could you confirm that it works now with Zile git sources (branch: branch-2.4, commit 6e3d29c)? Unfortunately Apple make it very hard to use macOS without simply buying a Mac, so I can't test it myself.

Once that's confirmed as working, I'll make a new release (it'll be 2.4.14). All the tests are passing on my GNU/Linux system (note that the Emacs tests require Emacs 24.x; or simply set EMACSPROG="" at configure time).

macOS 10.13 disallows the use of %n in writable memory strings for printf-family formats. This is used by zile in gnulib code at lib/vasnprintf.c

This was fixed by gnulib in the latest version. These sources should be imported into zile.
