Nope, recompiling everything with better cflags took quite a while but the same error persists. This bug was closed a while ago with the indication that it was a bug in ffmpeg however I cannot find this bug. Does anyone know how it was resolved?

Well, I'm going to recompile a lot of stuff now with altivec globally. I had missed this orginally which is likely the only reason for the revival of this old bug.

Somehow I had missed the "altivec" use flag provided by my ffmpeg ebuild, but I am still getting the same error after a recompile. I'm open to suggestions,

I'm going to recompile ffmpeg with better options.

I noticed bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524827 but that was forever ago. Merge? Need any more info or testing?
