I have already corresponded with Hartmut Becker, and he has indicated that currently he does not have time to be involved with getting the GNV changes merged.

So it is up to me do the work for the merge.

I have applied for a subscription to the bug-make list, and am waiting for the confirmation.

The VMS port of GNU make is mostly handled by Hartmut Becker <becker.ismaning@freenet.de> these days.  If you have questions or suggestions, etc. then it's best to discuss them on the -email is unavailable- mailing list and be sure Hartmut is CC'd.

As part of a refresh of the https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnv/ project, I am working on getting the GNU Make up to date.

The GNU Make in the GNV project has been modified to expect to run under a Bash shell among other things.

I would like to get this fork merged back into the main project.

Also GNU Make 4.0 is not currently building on VAX/VMS 7.3 and I would try to resolve this as part of this merge.
