Issue

When labelling a FAT32 partition in a multi-partition flash-based disk, created via fdisk and formatted via mkdosfs or any partitioning tool (GUI or otherwise), the allocation unit size reverts to 0 bytes.

Reproduction

Create and format a USB device into 1 primary FAT32 and 1 primary ext2 partition.

In this case I used the program "partitionmanager", and as such am able to tell the size of the allocation from the space used post-format. For eg. a 16KB allocation would use up 16KB of space, and not 0. This program cannot label a FAT32 partition, so I had to rely on mlabel. One can also plug the USB device into a Microsoft Windows system to verify the allocation unit size.

Assuming the FAT32 partition is /dev/sdb1 and has an allocation of 16KB, issue the command: mlabel -i /dev/sdb1 ::NEWLABEL

Verify that the used space is now 0 (or 0.0bytes).

One can also try to reproduce it with a single-partition FAT32 device, but since I have not tested it this way I cannot confirm the issue would still stand.
