If you don't have physical access to your machine i'd do a dry-run on a testmachine. |

Fri 30 Dec 2005 01:27:08 PM UTC, comment #4: I got the "Error 27: Unrecognized command" too with 0.96. After installing 0.97 it was o.k. Try to remove the 0.96 grub completely and create a new mbr with a 0.97 grub-install. I'm not a grub developer but a grub user, so maybe you have hit another bug too. |

This error applies on version 0.97, 0.96 and other earlier versions. I don't know why this command isn't working, but the help of grub contains imformation about this command which let me think, that this command should work - but it don't work.
