Seconded.  Doesn't work with UTF-8 either (what a surprise).
I'd like to not have to resort to Juergen.  Would be nice if we could live in the 3th millenium for a change.

Version is Debian's 1.2-3.

Since my name contains an "ü" character, I'd like to use it. But my-id complains ("invalid id").

My locales are set to de_DE@euro (Latin-9).
