Bug was fixed in git, by commit 43f35fc, which fixed bug #49099.

To reproduce, run 'stty cols 50 && src/nano --ignore --soft'.  Type <Enter> until the cursor is on the last line of the edit window.  Then press and hold X.  When the cursor reaches the end of the line, the screen does not scroll to show the wrapped part of the line.  When you then press <Down>, all the hidden exes jump into view.

Expected behavior: every time that the current line gains a softwrap pushing the tail of the line offscreen, the screen should scroll.

Bug is present since at least nano-2.2.1.
