Don't know what I did there, but cannot reproduce this anymore, not even in versions before current git.  Yes, when typing M-- a few times in older versions, the cursor is sometimes shown at the top of the screen instead of at the bottom, but that doesn't happen in git nor in 2.5.3.  So... bogus bug.

To reproduce, run 'stty cols 50 && nano --ignore --smooth --soft NEWS', then type M-/.  The cursor seems to sit at the end of the last line (after "jazz.").  But when you then type <Up>, the cursor goes to the start of that line (indicating that the cursor was in fact a line lower but couldn't go there because of window limitations).  If you then type <Down>, the screen scrolls two lines (because a two-line line was scrolled off at the top) and the cursor sits at the true end of the file.

Bug is present since nano-2.4.1.

(The behavior is really weird when after the M-/ you type M--: the screen scrolls down one line but the cursor jumps to the top of the window.  Upon the next M-- it jumps back to the bottom.)
