This is the LilyPond default, you can change it by using
Directives->Insert LilyPond and using this syntax:

 \override Hairpin.to-barline = ##f

If you look at the attached file, I have a cresc going from the first crotchet to the second one. This prints as expected. I then have a dim from the fourth crotchet to the first one of the next bar. This prints as a dim on the fourth crotchet only. At the end of bar three there is a dim going from the fourth crotchet to the 2nd crotchet of the next bar. This prints as expected.

The same problem happens if its a cresc rather than a dim
