Hi all,

I believe this bug should be left open until a proper (and non-circular) link has been restored for "Startup files").

About missing "See also links": I don't when it stopped working, but this is a known issue (see bugs #41841 and #44971).

I don't know. There seams to have been much changes with regards to the generation of octave-forge functions html doc, e.g. "See also" references are no more hyperlinks (I am pretty sure they used to be). Only verbatim external links seam to be supported now so this bug should not happen anymore, but I don't know if those changes are intentional.

The text "Startup Files" is no longer a hyperlink on Octave Forge.

Should this bug be closed, or should it be left open until the correct hyperlink is added?

Hi,

Thanks for your bug report. I can confirm the issue on Octave-Forge web site.
The link works properly in Octave manual (tested html, info, pdf and the gui doc browser), so it is somewhat specific to the html structure imported in Octave-Forge web site.
Maybe the generate_html package has something to do with this so I am adding Julien Bect to the recipients of this bug as he is currently very active in this area.

If you go to http://octave.sourceforge.net/octave/function/rand.html  you can see this sentence:

To obtain behavior comparable to matlab, initialize with a deterministic state vector in Octave's startup files (see Startup Files).

Startup Files is a hyperlink, but it is self-referential to this paragraph.

Expect:
I believe this is the correct link: http://www.gnu.org/software/octave/doc/interpreter/Startup-Files.html
