I had assumed that this was because we were using GNUstep property lists (extended to handle numbrs and dates like XML property lists) rather than OpenStep style property lists.  But it turns out this was a bug in the OpenStep style property list support.  I fixed the code to use -description to convert a date to a string in an OpenStep property list.

On Mac OS X, when you call -description on a dictionary that contains NSCalendarDate objects, it respects the calendar format set for the object. When you do the same with gnustep-base, you get a standard timestamp instead.
The reason is that we have proper support for NSDate in ASCII property lists :-) So I'm not quite sure whether we want to modify our behaviour to match the OS X implementation, since it would mean that we'd have to have a special case in GSPropertyListMake() just for this. (Also, when writing XML plists, Cocoa will disregard the calendar format set for the object as well).
