I can't reproduce this except in match play when the player holds a dead cube, for instance a 2-cube at -2:-2 or -2:-3.

Hint says "You cannot double" but gnubg allows it anyway (and takes even in the first case).

The take is obviously not a wrong decision but possibly there is a UI issue (have to check tournament play rules and see if doubling should be allowed there ; probably not). In any case, the inconsistency between hint and actual behaviour is not satisfactory.
