Not done very much testing lately but rc4 seemed more stable - had 1 unexplained crash.
So far not had any crashes with rc5 including one session which was  running for 14 hours overnight.

The test I was running for 36937 crashed after about 9 and a quarter hours (of doing nothing). However stderr looks more like this crash so I'm including it here.

There is no crashrecovery file created with this crash.
Stdout shows only a long line of autosaves.
Stderr shows:

(denemo-console.exe:61460): Pango-WARNING **: couldn't load font "Denemo Bold Italic Condensed 9", falling back to "Sans Bold Italic Condensed 9", expect ugly output.

(denemo-console.exe:61460): Pango-WARNING **: couldn't load font "Sans Bold Italic Condensed 9", falling back to "Sans 9", expect ugly output.

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Default font was set to Denemo 9
However, I have noticed a strange entry in Audio/MIDI settings: the Output device was set to MME: Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input. I have now changed that to MME: Microsoft Sound Mapper - Output.
I don't think I changed that field when I set it it, I think it was selected by default & I just checked it was MME.

It is no longer crashing so either the above or turning off cursor highlighting for the other bug made the problem go away.

I have pushed code to avoid re-starting audio when under the windows OS, to see if this is repsonsible.

I've have just tried this out with denemo and denemo-console and don't get a crash. What I notice is that the audio stuff is re-instated every time you quit the preferences, so I would suspect it is something in there.

Have you changed the default font in the preferences dialog? Denemo 9 is the default, but the bold and italic don't make sense.

This is both happening every time I try it - don't think I saw it with rc1.

Load denemo, which load up my last music (which typesets correctly).
Edit->Change Preferences
Press OK (It doesn't seem to matter whether or not changes have been made)
crash!!

Stdout says
stopping playback
that's it, i quit!
destroying dummy audio backend
destroying dummy MIDI backend

Stderr says
(denemo-console.exe:83652): Pango-WARNING **: couldn't load font "Denemo Bold Italic Condensed 9", falling back to "Sans Bold Italic Condensed 9", expect ugly output.
