when nano creates a .save file, it just uses current owner/group and umask to create it. if editing a shell script, it is often perms like 0755, but the .save file will be like 0644. i think it makes sense to try an fchmod() the .save output to match the original file. fchown() probably wont work most of the time, but that should be attempted as well (and errors ignored). |
