Problems: the right side marks never know how wide the preceding letter is. one idea: if any of the right-side marks appears after a letter which follows a left or combining diacritics, the letter and the right side mark exchange positions. Then mark-mark positioning could ensure the end mark would connect with the other mark.

Another problem: don't know how wide middle characters might be, from an m to an i. Really need to replace any of the combining diacritics with variable-size marks.
