Original submitter attempted to reproduce this problem after recompile and reports that this is no longer an issue.  GJC

The problem happens on the local X server but also when exporting the DISPLAY.
And please change to the correct categorization! Seems that I cannot correct it myself.

GNUstep applications do not accept keyboard input in text fields (save boxes or inside applications like Ink.app) also hitting "enter" to accept doesn't work.
This happens on OpenBSD/3.4 sparc
