i am doing something like sed with its `-f` and `-e` options: if both, or multiple of both, are entered, i would like to know the order.  one way, i suppose, would be to have something like, e.g., `int foo_argc;`.

for reference, the sed info pages say:

This document will refer to "the" 'sed' script; this is understood to mean the in-order concatenation of all of the SCRIPTs and SCRIPT-FILEs passed in.


also, i appreciate your "Terminology" section!  and, of course, i am unusual:

The order in which options are specified is _usually_ unimportant...
