In short, input the following code

<\equation*>
  F<rsup|\<ast\>><rsub|3><around|(|\<theta\><rsub|3>,\<zeta\>,\<sigma\>|)>
</equation*>

and notice that if you position the cursor at the right end of the expression, immediately after the closing parens, a left arrow moves the cursor to the subscript index of theta while it should move it immediately after sigma. Further behavior is even more irregular.
