For my part, I would dearly, dearly love to call this program "grafft".

I know I'm bikeshedding, but the name "business graphics" is vague enough to evoke Corporate Memphis instead of anything chart-related. Wouldn't "chart" be a more self-documenting umbrella name?

"Chart" and "graph" are confusable terms, but at least one can think of the former as an homage to an older, more Unixy tool.

Comments 4-10 of bug #59545 have more discussion pertinent to this.

I'm also adding the package name to this bug's the Summary so I'm more likely to find this ticket in the future rather than opening more duplicates of it (a la bug #62778 -- oops).

Hi Deri,

With the default git config,

  git push origin <branch name>

should work, it's what I use and what I've sent you last year when you worked on gropdf.  I usually always explicitely push 1 branch at a time, and don't use 'git push' alone (which could push several branches, again depending on your git config).  As for the --set-upstream option I'm not sure whether its useful if you pass explicitely the name of the branch (the man page says "For every branch that is up to date or successfully pushed, add upstream (tracking) reference" so I guess it's for pushing several branches at a time).

I'm not Bertrand :) but if I recall correctly all you have to do is assign an upstream branch.

$ git push --set-upstream origin your_branch_name

After that, all pushes from your_branch_name will automatically go to the parent repo, which could be Savannah or could be a local clone of Savannah.

Hi Bertrand,

Please can you remind me, if I create a separate branch on my local git, how I push this to the savannah git as a separate branch, so others may test before it is merged. I believe you did give me the info once, when I was making a lot of changes to gropdf for handling font glyphs above 255 chars, but I'm afraid I can't find it, apologies.

Deri,

the work you have done to generate business graphics looked promising, so I'm opening this bug in order to remember we have this new feature.  If I'm not mistaken you had a robust version of your pre-processor and only the documentation was missing.
