Support for HiDPI screens was added in Sept. 2018.  It will be a part of the 5.0 release in January, 2019.

My laptop is equipped with a 4K screen (3840x2160) at 15.6" (~282PPI). This is rendering parts of the Octave GUI unusable (see attached screenshot).

Let me know if you need screenshots of other parts of the Octave GUI.
