I think I saw that a long time ago, and Jordi maybe advised me to go to my Preferences and set Math to use PNG instead of MathML.

When I go to the Octave Wiki and click on the FAQ I get an internal error

MediaWiki internal error.

Original exception: [Wtd-ra3s4IwAADwHHFMAAAAP] /FAQ MWException from line 213 of /home/gnuoctave/wiki.octave.org/mediawiki-1.28.2/extensions/Math/MathRestbaseInterface.php: Math extension can not find Restbase URL. Please specify $wgMathFullRestbaseURL.

There is a whole page of backtrace, but I didn't bother to include it.

I just added an entry to the FAQ for this error that happens very often to new users

https://wiki.octave.org/FAQ#Error_message_about_invalid_call_to_script_or_invalid_use_of_script_in_index_expression

What is with THE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS?  Just type normally in mixed case.

It looks to me like you might have accidentally installed your own version of delete.

Open Octave and type

which delete

It should return something that ends in

scripts/miscellaneous/delete.m

From the error message, it looks like you have your own version of the function in

C:\Users\Asus\delete.m

Is your command window waiting for an input. Sometimes you can't close a plot window when the command window is waiting for an entry.

PROBLEM: WHENEVER I TRY TO PLOT A FIGURE ,IT GETS PLOTTED PERFECTLY FINE BUT WHEN I TRY TO CLOSE THE FIGURE WINDOW ,IT DOES NOT CLOSES.EVEN CLOSE FIGURE(CTRL+W) DOES NOT WORK
(invalid use of script C:\Users\Asus\delete.m in index expression
execution error in graphics callback function)

I AM USING WINDOWS 10.(I HAVE TRIED THIS ON UBUNTU,IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE).I HAVE EVEN TRIED UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING.
