7ee7d63eeb320a9590165b2a067ada9992aa1393 is the commit which introduced this problem. bb8d10f80c667f63618c99b078448fb6e2156278 is okay.

It happened again, but this time I tried with the stable release provided in the official Arch Linux repos, which is 9.2.

Oops, sorry, didn't see your second message.

In general you should alway try to reproduce from the most recent release.

We make sure that the git source will compile from the most recent release and from itself, but not from intermediate builds.

It turns out that the build went well if I install MIT-Scheme 9.2 rather than a previous build from git.

mit-scheme 9.2.0.1234 from commit 9bd9f2db9 did not do the trick.
