The combining glyphs overlap consonants and each other. To make room, the consonants should be compressed and shifted left, and every combining glyph should be placed to minimize overlap. Unlike in, say, Miao or Tai Tham, it is impossible to ease the pressure by making post-base marks be non-combining, because U+1C36 LEPCHA SIGN RAN is encoded at the end of the cluster but goes above the consonant.
