Thu 28 Dec 2017 03:49:18 AM UTC, comment #1: Some of these change glyph widths from single-width to double-width for glyphs that are used in the PSF console font for standalone APL. Those glyphs must be single-width to be in a console font on GNU/Linux. So I cannot make those changes.

Unicode Technical Report #25 defines the relative sizes of geometric shapes. Unifont should follow these definitions; for example, U+2B51 BLACK SMALL STAR should be smaller than U+2605 BLACK STAR. Unifont currently uses a convention where, because of the low resolution, “smaller” is sometimes drawn as “lower”; my suggested glyphs make use of this convention more consistently.

UTR 25 is a recommendation for mathematical fonts. I do not consider Unifont to be a mathematical font, but I have made some basic changes. The submitted glyphs went way beyond what is mentioned in UTR 25 though. If the original shapes were correct, I did not change them. If you think that additional shapes are incorrect, please submit another bug report. However, I would not want to change glyphs just for the sake of creating new versions--the original shapes should be incorrect in some way.
Thank you,
Paul Hardy
