Rob, please use the bug tracker web interface, replying by email does not work.

So this is resolved as far as Octave is concerned. The package in question is necessary to tie Qt style to the system GTK style. The reported messages are from the GTK libraries themselves. If there is a problem here, it will probably be or has been addressed in a GTK update.

If this is still occurring for you, was Octave built with Qt 4 or 5?

If Qt 5, does removing the package qt5-gtk-platformtheme and restarting Octave remove these messages?

After leaving octave 4.2.1 GUI open for a while these messages clutter the command window. This is with Ubuntu 17.04. It didn't happen previously with 16.10.

Thanks for some great software!
