This will be a bit of work.  Several script/language tags must be updated in each face.  I'm trying to dream up an automatic solution.

FreeSerif prevents ligatures like ⟨fi⟩ and puts a dot above small capital ⟨i⟩ in languages like Turkish which distinguish between dotted and dotless i. Here are some more such languages with their OpenType language system tags.

  • Dimli: DIQ
  • Gagauz: GAG
  • Karakalpak: KRK
  • Kirmanjki: KIU
  • Zazaki: ZZA

FreeSerif should treat these languages like Turkish too.
