I pushed a fix for this.

I noticed that there is no type check in the value label dialog. To reproduce the problem:

Open psppire.
Go to the variables window.
Type a name to create a numeric variable.
Click on the value label field to open the value label dialog.
Type "Hotzenplotz" and "I love you" as value / label pair.
Click Ok.
You see the . as the value for the new value label pair.

Hotzenplotz should not be considered a correct numeric value.
