That long timeout is really necessarry as qemu can be very slow, especially when doing cross-CPU emulation. Please specify how and when it hangs for you. We should be fixing real trouble rather than just decreasing timeout

grub does not run tests as part of build. Could you give more details about your environment?

Do you mean grub_cmd_test hangs for you? Then more details would be good as well.

The timeout of the invocation of `qemu-system-x86_64 -m 512M -nographic ...` in `grub_cmd_test` is set to 3600 seconds which makes it very difficult to build the software if the command fails. It should be lower because unit test shouldn't take so long anyway.
