Mon 05 Sep 2016 08:02:05 AM UTC, comment #2: Left and Right are not rebindable, Shift+Left/Right are not rebindable, and Shift+Ctrl+Left/Right are not rebindable either. All of those keystrokes do left/right movements -- it would be a bit strange to allow the user to rebind Ctrl+Left/Right to do something different. So... the Ctrl+Arrow keys should not become rebindable. Instead, the solution will have to be: to report to the user that (apart from Space, Ins and Del) any keyname longer than one character is invalid. |

Putting in one's .nanorc something like
has not the desired effect. The ^Left and ^Right are listed on the two help lines, but the key combinations continue to work as NextWord and PrevWord.

Corresponding source code
Fixed in git, e2027ae, by a patch from Rishabh Dave, which rejects rebinding any ^X and any M-X sequence where X is more than a single character (apart from ^Space and M-Space).
