Thanks for the quick resolution! Appreciate it. My name is Misty De Meo, I'm a maintainer of the Homebrew package manager.

Thanks.  Fixed in SVN, r5091.  (If you post your name, I can mention you as the reporter in the Changelog.)

It works after deleting the extra pipe, yes!

Thanks for reporting.  Could you try and delete one of the vertical bars in "keycolor||statuscolor" and see if it works then?

The default nanorc.nanorc shipped with nano 2.3.6 doesn't load properly on Mac OS X; it fails with the following error, from line 10:

Error in /usr/local/share/nano/nanorc.nanorc on line 10: Bad regex "^[[:space:]]*set[[:space:]]+(functioncolor|keycolor||statuscolor|titlecolor)+[[:space:]]+(bright)?(white|black|red|blue|green|yellow|magenta|cyan)?(,(white|black|red|blue|green|yellow|magenta|cyan))?[[:>:]]": empty (sub)expression

nano was built with the following options: --enable-color --enable-extra --enable-multibuffer --enable-nanorc --disable-nls --enable-utf8
