Thanks for catching that! Re-fixed in r5058.

Oooff. Revision 5056 breaks nano for me: I cannot open any file any more, it says: "[ Error writing lock file: Directory '/home/ben/Repositories/LATEST' doesn't exist ]" -- but the directory does exist, I'm right in the middle of it: src/nano TODO.

Fixed in r5056.

Now that I'm thinking about it though, there's a bigger problem, which is that when using locking, we now seem to drop the file passed on the command line if we run into locking issues, which is not the previous behavior. Fixing that will probably obviate this issue, but I'll open a new bug regardless.

Trying to open a file in a directory that does not exist, produces a puzzling error message on the statusbar.

Try running 'nano thisisatypo/somefile'. Nano will show an empty buffer and the statusbar will say: "[ Error writing lock file thisisatypo/.somefile.swp: Bad file descriptor ]".

Nano should recognize that some component of the given patch does not exist and, with a warning, skip that command-line argument.
