This seems to have fixed itself with the latest 3.8.0 release.

Doing any operation which invokes the Java interface causes a segfault for me.  This is with a MXE built version of Octave where the build host is 64bit Linux and the target is MinGW 32bit running on Windows XP.

Attached is a backtrace from gdb run under Windows.  Surprisingly, the segfault is occurring in Octave code in the file_stat class.
