I don't think we should bother with this.

The comments from the hint button are generally of the "it would be a mistake not not do this" kind, the exception being optional doubles. Not resigning is never an error and something like "Optional resign gammon, accept" looks awkward as a hint.

Moreover, as far as good practice go, I'm not sure it is a good thing to suggest players should try hard to figure if they should resign when the decision is not obvious. Over the board, I would rather have an opponent roll for one more pointless turn than have him stop and ponder whether he can harmlessly resign or not.

Barring convincing comments against it, I will close the issue in a few weeks.
