If you happen to have an Nvidia graphics card, there is information in this bug report as to how someone solved some of their issues:

I definitely can't reproduce this, but I am venturing to guess it might be related to OpenGL and your video card. What type of video card (Make/Model #) is in your system?

Could you attach your gnubgautorc file (this is the config file for GNUBG). It can be found in your account directory under a folder called .gnubg (Yes, there is a period in front). Usually on newer versions windows that would be in c:\Users\[username]\.gnubg where [username] is your account name.

What version of GNUBG are you running?

One thing to look at is to try turning off "Quick Drawing" (if it is on). That can be found in Settings menu/Board Appearance/General tab. There is a quick drawing checkbox just above the test performance. Turn it off if it is on, does it make a difference?

After rolling dice, clicking on a game piece causes a copy of the background to print over the game board at odd angles. These images appear behind the gaming area but overprint everything else. When the computer plays, the problem doesn't occur.
